Basil-Garlic Grilled Salmon
Fresh basil, a little garlic and some flavorful tomatoes add a bit of a kick to a grilled salmon filet.
We took a few snips of basil from the garden, added a couple of cherry tomatoes from our indoor aerogarden for this twist on grilled salmon.
Basil-Garlic Grilled Salmon
Fresh basil, a little garlic and some flavorful tomatoes add a bit of a kick to a grilled salmon filet.
Ingredients
- 1 pound salmon filet
- 1 tablespoon basil fresh, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 small tomatoes halved or quartered
Instructions
- Turn on your gas grill and heat to high (or prepare your charcoal grill for high temperature grilling).
- In a small bowl, mix the chopped basil with the garlic and the olive oil.
- Dry the salmon fillet with paper towel.
- Remove the pin bones from the filet.
- Put the salmon on a hot grill and cook for 3 or 4 minutes skin side up.
- Turn the salmon and brush or spread the basil garlic mixture on top along with the tomatoes.
- Cook for another 3 or 4 minutes. Be sure to check the meat and cook until the raw pink color is gone - do not over cook!
