Butternut Squash and Oatmeal Cookies for Dogs
You may think dog treats need stinky cheese, fatty meat, or smoked fish, but you’d be wrong. These treats earned positive marks from a group of canine scent detectives who trialed them. Not only are these treats tasty, the squash and oatmeal add fiber to your pup’s diet.
Butternut Squash and Oatmeal Cookies for Dogs
Equipment
- Food Processor
Ingredients
- 2 cup butternut squash, cut into cubes and roasted.
- 1 cup dry whole grain oat cereal
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Place all ingredients in the food processor and process until thoroughly mixed and the mixture resembles a cookie dough.
- Spoon dough onto a lined cookie sheet. I use ½ teaspoon measuring spoon to create bite sized treats.
- Baked for 20 minutes or until a toothpick placed in a cookie comes out clean.
- Let the cookies cool before sharing with your pup.
- Store in the refrigerator for about a week. They'll keep longer in the freezer.
